Sample text:

I have never been short with my words, so allow me to say it this way, "I hate church." More importantly, I hate my father's church. When I left for college, I vowed never to step foot back into that church no matter what.

I don't harbor any bad feelings towards my dad. The man, I love him to death. It's just those judgmental pricks that sit on the board of the church. They act as though they are the only ones who have a direct connection to God. Lord God doesn't speak to anyone other than those five old jerks.

My God, it's 2007 and there is still not a single woman on the board. Greater Mt. Moriah Baptist Church is one of the oldest African-American churches in Dallas, TX. It was founded in 1914. (I know this because my dad would recite this to me just about every week.) The church has survived riots, fires, failed bombings, and its share of jack-legged preachers. The church began in West Dallas with 27 blacks. This was before West Dallas was known for its Projects and high crime rate. West Dallas was where the prominent high-class blacks lived. Forgive me; African-Americans.
