Sample text:

Chapter 1 Sage rose to leave, retrieving her purse and the files from the attorney’s desk.

"Thank you, Mr. Wilcox. The sale went smoothly and you executed the closing efficiently."

The rail of a man smiled broadly and firmly shook her hand. "My pleasure, Mrs. Benton, thank you for your confidence." A knock on the door interrupted. "Come in."

The door swung wide. A handsome man in police uniform hesitated before entering, surprise evident in his emerald eyes. A slight blush rose on his dimpled face. He swiped at silver tresses from his rugged, tanned forehead. He moved gracefully for someone so tall. His lanky, yet powerful muscles strained the constraints of his shirt fabric.

"Sorry to interrupt. Janie was away from her desk and I hoped you were alone. I uhh . . . was in the building and wanted to deliver these documents for tomorrow’s court date." He handed a manila envelope to Mr. Wilcox.

"No worries, Wyatt. Janie’s out to lunch. We’re done here and staying goodbye. I’m glad you stopped by, so I can introduce your new neighbor. Mrs. Benton, this is our sheriff, Wyatt Gordon. Wyatt, meet Mrs. Benton, the new owner of the Sander’s farm."
