The neurological system: the five known senses are our “tools” to gain information from the external environment. The perceived information is further processed into thoughts either consciously or unconsciously. It is those thought processes that affect our experience of the surrounding environment.
The linguistic capabilities: the words you use reflects how you capture the surrounding environment. The way you conceptualize the world around you are expressed explicitly through your words. Hence, the words “language” you express the world influence your experience of the world.
The programming pattern: we learn things “experience” and make decisions “behavior” using the variable internal strategies and patterns. That net process is called programming.
We can fully understand the essential terms of the NLP by reviewing the following concepts.
Subjectivity: the gained experience is represented subjectively. We use our senses and linguistic capabilities to structure the experience in a subjective representation. Accordingly, the NLP is defined as the study of the structure of the subjective representation of our experience.
Behavior: behavior is the outcome of the sense-based subjective representations. Behavior comes in either verbal or non-verbal communication. So, you may change the behavior by manipulating the generator of the behavior: the subjective representations that are sense-based.
Consciousness: our mind is hypothetically categorized into the conscious mind and the unconscious mind. Part of subjective representations takes place outside our awareness. It makes up the unconscious mind.
