This monograph presents the clinical condition of narcissistic disorder in a clear, concise and easy-to-read style. The myth of Narcissus, from where the term 'narcissism' originates, is presented and discussed. Several brief case studies, plus one in-depth, illustrate the manifestations of narcissistic disorder that are detailed throughout.
Most narcissists have very deep narcissistic injuries inside themselves that they struggle to understand and to change. They often grow up not know how to care for themselves and love themselves that way a normal person would. They struggle with living parasitic lives which are often damaging to others. They lack a moral compass to guide them.
Narcissistic abuse includes projecting and deflecting negative and harsh words toward others who are close to the narcissist to inflict pain or emotion where the narcissist was previously suppressing the thoughts.
Projection and deflecting has many purposes to the narcissist. He projects and deflects the unwanted parts of himself onto the other person who is close to him.

Healthy narcissism is distinguished from pathological narcissism. In the right degree, the basic properties mentioned are by no means injurious or even morbid. Everyone needs a healthy level of self-love. You should be able to turn to yourself in a positive way, feel and respect your own needs. Self-confidence, self-esteem and self-confidence are the prerequisites for a stable personality who would like to lead a successful life.
Such people retain their stable self-esteem even when they experience setbacks, defeats, or criticism. Positive narcissistic people have a harmonious charisma, rest in themselves and have a balanced effect. They radiate commitment and warmth, are solid and stand with their convictions. They can give and equally also take. They are tolerant and understanding towards others, remain firm and have a healthy self-confident appearance without any form of arrogance. They are proud of their own achievements and look forward to the achievements.
Ambition, self-assertion, and assertiveness alone do not correspond to the definition of narcissism. The pursuit of self-realization and recognition is a deeply human need, which, however, is sometimes too quickly equated with one-sided egoism or arrogance. Here, however, one must carefully differentiate the narcissism.
