“I don’t have a clutter issue, I have a space issue”. Does it ring a bell? People usually put the blame on their insufficient house space rather than the fact that they have turn into hoarders. Let’s do an exercise together, right now. Stand up and walk around your house. Grab a pen and paper and carefully inspect your house. Write down the items you don’t need. Don’t worry, at this stage I will not ask you to throw everything you write down, out the window. Be honest and write literally everything that you either no longer use or you don’t have much use of. Your grandma’s China patterns probably served her well in the 40s when people actually considered them fancy, but have you ever used them? Did you bring them out last Christmas? I didn’t think so. So, why do you have them in your house? There are probably tons of other items that you don’t use but haven’t got the guts to get rid of. Trust me when I tell you that these items give you headaches.
Every home has a reset button. You just have to find it. No idea where to look? It is probably hidden underneath the heaps and jumbles. Getting rid of all the junk that has been weighing you down is the only way you can retune your home and transform it from a messy to a zen place.
But it’s easier said than done. Clutter is much like the flu. It runs in a fever cycle. Every now and then your house becomes intolerable and mounds are shifted, rearranged, boxes are filled and moved to the attic. So, all clear, right? Not so much.
