Mindfulness is a form of meditation that was alien to Westerners until recently. A typical meditation usually consists of focusing your full attention on your breath as it flows in and out of your body. Focusing on each breath allows you to focus on your thoughts as they occur in your mind and, gradually, letting go of them. You will realize that thoughts come and go at their own will. They will appear in your mind, from thin air, and then quickly disappear, like a bubble bursting. You come to realize that thoughts and feelings are momentary. They come and they go, and in the end, you have a choice about whether to act on them or not.
