Nope, you actually don’t have to go to the mountains for this first exercise. However, it is named as such because it expects you to adopt a dignified and erect pose—just like a mountain!
Imagine yourself as a mountain with dark clouds hovering above you. It’s not the most positive thing, isn’t it? However, by acting like a mountain, you can imagine yourself surrounded by the most beautiful oceans. Then, you can ask yourself this question:
What am I doing now?
Just focus on the thoughts that would suddenly appear inside your head. Focus on how you feel inside and on the sensations of your breath and belly. Follow the way the breath moves in and out and just get yourself anchored in the present moment. Do this for 5 minutes or so.
Now, try to imagine how your face looks like while doing this. Imagine your posture and your body as a whole. Then repeat these words:
This is what it is, and it is what it is. I feel it. It’s okay.
Open your eyes and take a couple of deep breaths. Focus on your breathing again, and now, you feel a whole lot better than you felt earlier!
