Humanity has reached for the stars and has gained complete domination. The human empire has remain unchallenged... until now. A new alien race is discovered and they are as human as we are. However, unfortunately for Earth the aliens are far more advanced technologically. They are smarter than Earth humans, and are just as aggressive. Maybe it doesn't help that they are all psychopaths.
Bill is training to be a combat marine in a war that Earth based humanity is losing when his base is attacked by the aliens at the end of his training. He finds himself as the hero and is propelled into a battle that he must win with the help of the lethal AI Collective to gather alien technology for study on Earth. Welcome to the new future, an alien nightmare that is not so alien, but is an all out battle to the death where Bill's allies are as dangerous as his enemies.
Mett Bill has been out for awhile now. A sequel is already published, with at least one more in writing. Meet Bill is already published as an audiobook in english as well. The Meet Bill eBook has already been in the top 20 in category and has been in the top 100 in category more than once in the U.S., though the sales are now slowing here as is to be expected. I reasonably expect translations to achieve similar results in foreign Amazon markets, as this book is packed with action, a world-wide general favorite.
Bill slammed forward like a crazed maniac, using his rifle butt as a bludgeon to the back of the aliens head. The liquid metal suit absorbed some of the force of the blow, but not enough. The alien crumpled like a sack of wheat, smashing to the ground in the high gravity. Red ochre oozed from the hood of the alien's suit.
Desperately, Bill crouched and swiveled on his heel to survey the scene visually. The heads up display showed a few red spots left, but far fewer green spots as well. The crouch saved his life as a blob of nothingness passed through the air just above his helmet. The near miss of the energy field gave him an instant headache and he scrunched his eyes tightly closed for a second because of the pain.
Static crackled in his helmets comm set.
"Bill, you have two bogeys closing on your six and eight," the voice of his drill Sergeant said in a stern, no nonsense voice.
Without thinking, he burst into a run, noting on his headset that the two red dots were behind him. He dashed suddenly to the right, behind a large pile of red boulders. Rock dust exploded above and behind him, showering down in a fine red mist.
"I'm hit. Medic, I need a medic over here!" Screamed a shrill, desperate female voice.
A red dot winked out, leaving only three left as Bill ran around the large pile of rock.
"I got one! I go..." The voice stopped in mid shout and another green dot blinked out on the display.
In mid stride, Bill shifted the rifle to his left hand and grabbed the handle of the vibro-blade built in to the right thigh of his suit. The vibro-blade was a nasty piece of work. The knife was a foot-long , super thin sliver of razor sharp steel. A powerful vibrating motor in the handle caused the blade to vibrate, allowing it to cut deeply with the merest touch.
