More than anything, meditation is known as any kind of activity where the person focuses their attention on a repetitious activity that is good for cognition, their way of thinking, or their state of mind.

It is primarily about being in the so-called state of “Thoughtless Awareness” where the mind neutralizes the stressful and exhausting mental activities without reducing the mind's capacity of activity or effectivity.

When you meditate, you get to focus on what's happening in the present rather than worrying about the future or thinking about what already happened in the past. Being in this state—also known as “Equipoise” is known to be therapeutic. It works not just psychologically, but also physically, as the body actually becomes stronger.

You see, the mind is so smart that it knows how to distinguish a nap, rest, or sleep, from pure meditation. When it realizes that you are meditating, it feels that you're actually giving it the chance to take a break—and have a new lease on life.

There are many meditative forms that you can follow. Some are easy, some strict, others complex, but what matters is that if you practice them regularly, you'll be able to tap into your unconscious negative behaviors and reverse them—so your mind can be in a good, positive place. Doing it at least 15 minutes each day would be very beneficial!
