Vanessa has resolved to get over her broken heart this year and finally find a man who knows how to treat her. Just because she's a big girl does not mean that she's given up on love...although she wonders if she isn't just kidding herself.
When David, the trainer at the gym, starts to flirt with her, at first she can't bring herself to believe that he's anything more than a pretty face. Once they kiss, though, and she discovers that their lust is mutual, she could easily see him as something more.
However, David has a secret that Vanessa finds intriguing yet scary, but is her attraction enough to let her explore the wild side?
Vanessa hit the snooze again, but there it was, the persistent, nagging voice in her head that told her to get to the gym before she skipped it altogether, again. She groaned and sat up, it had been part of her New Year's resolutions to work out every day, so far that had wound up being three times but after weighing herself yesterday and finding that she hadn't lost one Christmas pound, there seemed to be no other choice.
This is the year that I finally lose the weight and find the right guy; it was supposed to be her mantra, her incentive to put down the ice cream and stay on the treadmill. She shuffled to the kitchen and made a cup of coffee and pulled the workout gear on, Vanessa was tired of waiting for both and this time, she'd keep her promise to herself.
Once she was on the treadmill, she felt better. She could picture herself on the arm of a nice guy for a change, not like Jacob had turned out to be. Just saying her ex's name to herself was dangerous. He was too sexy for his own good, let alone hers, and she had hung on for far too long. It was humiliating to remember all of the times that he had cheated and, worse, all of the times that she had forgiven him. The last straw had finally come when he told her that she didn't really have a choice - how many times would a fat girl like her have the opportunity to be with a man like him?
