If you can allow your body to go into a long REM phase of sleep and then wake up in the midst of it you may have greater dream recall. The best way to remember a dream is to wake up in the middle of it. The key is to catch the REM. You can do this by allowing yourself to get about four and a half hours of sleep uninterrupted. Set your alarm clock to go off about four and a half hours after you fall asleep. If it takes you longer to fall asleep then take that into consideration and add that amount of time.
