One of the most important things that you need to do is to become aware that you are within a dream. The reason is that there are many times wherein a person may think that they’re simply living a scene out of their waking life, and fail to recognize that it is actually just a figment of their imagination.
Now, once you encounter a situation where you aren’t certain if you’re dreaming, you need to look for signs that it is a dream. Many people do things like look at their hands. If everything is normal, you’re most likely awake but if you’re dreaming there is often something abnormal. That is when you realize that you’re lucid, and start letting your mind gain control of the situation and enjoy the environment that you are creating.
3. Dream Control
When you are within a lucid dream, you may gain control over your actions and at a point, your environment. In order to do this, you have to become mindful of the rules that your subconscious follows within that specific dream. You would also notice that once you have improved your awareness of that specific environment, you will have an immediate location map of all the scenes that are included in your dream sequences and have a better idea of what is going to happen next. You would also have the ability to continue your dreams if you are suddenly woken up, if you practice enough.
