An Adjacent Place recounts multiple out-of-body excursions and lucid dreams noted over a three-year period, from their unanticipated beginning through to the startling and open-ended conclusion. In a series of narratives, readers are shown how the phenomenon was first stumbled upon and are provided with a set of pointers as to how an experience might unfold for them, should they choose to visit.
So today we are advocates for the lucid dreaming phenomenon, and we encourage everyone to embark on the experience and start living your dreams.
They might read one article on the Internet, and assume that if they follow a certain technique they will start having lucid dreams whenever they want. They are wrong. Now I'm not saying it's impossible for people to have a lucid dream the first night they try. There is a very small percentage of people that are able to have a lucid dream the first time they hear about them.
If you are ready to take action and change your life for the better, this book will definitely guide you in the right direction!

If you are having a hard time writing dream details in your dream journal, you are experiencing a barrier which prevents your memory when you wake up from connecting with what you dreamt. This may be happening because your brain is not well-rested enough to give way to lucidity. That means that if your lifestyle involves depriving yourself of sleep, you may have to give up practicing lucid dreaming for now.
When you deprive yourself enough sleep, you are making no time for REM sleep, which is very essential to dreaming. This is where 45 to 60 minutes of your dreams happen. However, if you are only sleeping four to five hours a night, you are not able to have a sleep that proceeds to REM. That means that you also are not able to enjoy the therapy of dreams that allow you to heal from your previous day’s trauma and allow yourself to have the time to subconsciously solve the problems that you will be facing again today.
In order to allow your mind repair and enjoy dreams to their fullest, make it a point that you dedicate at least one day of full rest, and prepare yourself to spend an extra hour or two in your bed in order to catch up with your efforts to rehearse lucid dreaming.
