Little Jeffery Goes Fishing
One Saturday morning Little Jeffery woke up and took a big stretch in his bed.
Little Jeffery said to himself. “Yay it’s Saturday and there is no school today! Daddy promised to take me fishing at the big pond today!”
Little Jeffery woke up and made his bed.
Little Jeffery took his bath and remembered that mommy said to wash behind his ears.
Little Jeffery remembered to brush his teeth just like his mommy said to do every morning.
Little Jeffery combed his hair and put on his favorite fishing hat and grabbed his favorite fishing pole.
As Little Jeffery was walking to the big pond with his daddy, his daddy began to tell him a story.
“Little Jeffery” said his daddy, “Did you know that Jesus was a fisherman just like you and me?”
“Really daddy?” said little Jeffery.
“Yes he was a great fisherman,” said his daddy. “Let me tell you the story. One day Jesus met his friends who were unloading their boat and after fishing all day, they did not catch any fish. Jesus told His friends to take him out on the boat and He would show them how to catch a bunch of fish. However, Jesus’ friends said, ‘But we haven’t caught any fish all day!’ Nevertheless, Jesus told them to, ‘Trust in me.’ So His friends took Jesus back out on the boat and Jesus said, ‘Throw out your nets.’ Then Jesus held out his hand and all of a sudden the nets caught so many fish that it almost tipped over the boat!”
