Nathaniel Pierce ran away from home and the painful memories of his past. He's recreated himself in Eureka Springs. No longer a veterinarian, he's Nate the landscaper. When old Lilly Connor dies, the whole town turns to him to watch out for her granddaughter.
Lilly Ramirez never knew she was named after her grandmother. In fact, she didn't know she existed. She heads to Eureka Springs against her mother's wishes to learn about the hidden side of her family, and hopefully find direction for her life. The small town isn't anything like she expected, it's way better. The only downside is the sinfully hot man that feels the need to judge her for things that were out of her control.
Genre: FICTION / Romance / ContemporaryI see consistent page reads on my romance as well as sales. There are only 10 reviews, but I'm actively building my reader following to increase all stats.
"I didn't know what you'd like, so I got my favorite." His gut gave a rebellious twist of guilt. He didn’t mention that his favorite burger was spicy enough to bring a lesser man to tears.
"This wasn't necessary, but thank you." She pulled out two plates and set them on the table.
He had a sudden desire to grab that blasted bag and run. "I'm not eating."
"Oh, okay." She ducked her head, letting her hair sway forward to hide her face. Lilly turned and put one of the plates away. "Do you mind if I eat? I'm hungrier than I thought, and it smells wonderful."
"Sure." Nate reached in and reluctantly pulled out the Diablo burger. It wasn't the spiciest thing on the menu, but it rated three out of five flames. At the time he wanted to see her struggle with the heat. Now that he'd met her, he was having second thoughts. “It's a bit spicy."
"I love spicy food." She took the container from his hands, opened it, and took a huge bite of the messy burger before he could stop her.
Lilly chewed slowly, her eyes closed. A drop of chipotle sat on the edge of her mouth. Before he could say anything, her tongue darted out and licked it up. Nate had never thought watching someone eat was sexy, but he'd just been converted.
