½ lb lean organic ground beef
1 small avocado, pitted and peeled
¼ Tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 slices yellow cheddar cheese, 1 oz each
1 tomato, diced
1 small onion, sliced into thin rings
4 romaine or iceberg lettuce leaves
Sea salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Procedure:
Lay the lettuce leaves on two serving dishes and set aside.
Divide the ground beef into two patties. Make compact, then season with salt and pepper.
Prepare the stovetop grill. Grill the beef patties for 5 to 8 minutes per side or until cooked through.
Lay a patty over each bed of lettuce.
Slice the avocado into thin pieces. Sprinkle the lemon juice over the sliced avocado to prevent them from browning.
Lay the sliced avocado on top of the burger patties, then add the chopped garlic and onion rings on top. Serve right away with yellow mustard, if desired.
