At the onset of ketosis, you will be losing a lot of body fluid. When the body is storing glycogen, it stores it with water and when it starts depleting glycogen stores, it releases the water too. Keep in mind that it takes four parts of water to store one part of glycogen so you will really lose a lot of water. Moreover, by inhibiting sodium excretion, high insulin causes the cells to retain water. When you get into ketosis, the body regulates insulin production, the cells lose the water, and the body excretes the sodium. When you get dehydrated, you start experiencing headaches and tiredness. Drink a lot of water to restore water into the body. 

So how do you deal with the headaches and fatigue?

Drink lots of water to stay hydrated and make sure you have taken at least two teaspoonful’s of table salt (you could add it to drinking water) every day to replenish sodium. This way, you shall alleviate the headache and fatigue.
