“When the truck hit the deer, an antler flew off it’s head and wedged into a tree a foot from my head. So here was this old couple getting out of their truck, looking both at me and the bumper where it connected. ‘Shouldn’t we contact the authorities.’ they said. ‘No, no.’ I replied, ‘It’s not like they can bring it back to life.’ Once they left, I didn’t have a knife on me and all I could find was a beer bottle. That was the time I skinned a buck with nothing but a broken beer bottle and hulled it home for dinner”. Bucky Hicks stated proudly. “It’s also why I now carry a blade with me at all times.”
Sitting outside for lunch meant listening to Bucky tell stories while eating. Bucky was so proud of that story that he told it at least once a month and more whenever asked.
“Who the hell are you to think that you can even touch me! Don’t you know that I’m a two time state champ. You should be asking for wrestling advice and not challenging me.” Sherlock boasted angrily approaching the table.
“Use deductive reasoning, Sherlock. It only makes sense that I get a shot at that weight class being I dropped to it naturally.”
“Chump, I’ll make you drop another weight class.” Sherlock spoke with clenched teeth, while whipping out his switch blade.
“What the hell! You just brought this to a new level. You must really be scared to pull a knife rather than wrestling me.” I responded while pulling Bucky’s knife from his sheath.
Bucky’s mouth opened wide. He didn’t know what to be more surprised at: the fact I took his knife without asking; or the fact that two of his teammates were about to slice each other up.
