It typically doesn't take thirty minutes or an hour to eat your lunch AND the longer you sit in front of food, the more you will want to eat, even if you’re not hungry anymore. These little devils are big in calories with very little to no health value. My suggestion is to not to have them at all. If you MUST have one soda a day while you’re learning to be healthier, at least make it a regular soda. Fake sweeteners with their huge amount of sodium in diet sodas are worse for your system than the empty soda calories you’re consuming.

No thank you! Tell them you don’t need it! If others at the table want it, then order a tall glass of water with lemon and drink the entire thing while they eat bread. It will help to take the edge off your hunger.
