Fragmented Fates is a (very) dark political fantasy drama focusing on the POV of 4 elves that ended up exiled because of a crime committed by one of the protagonists. The most important character is a blind female elf named Talgel, who lost her eyesight prior to the beginning of the main story when she attained the magic to see future events.
Most of the conflict in the story revolves around the city inhabitants struggling to become self sufficient in the desert and Talgel's manipulation tactics due to an important future event she sees early in the story. Talgel entices a woman to abandon her alcoholic husband and elope with an elderly demon king that lives in their city. Meanwhile, the woman's son Tioja doesn't quite know his role in the story, but he becomes the protagonist in the sequel.

Embroiled in this story is a young hybrid elf named Tioja, who doesn't understand his role in the greater scheme of things.
Four characters are about to have their fates manipulated, and their willpower tested. All for the sake of a demon inhabiting Talgel's body that will use them for its own nefarious purposes.
Very modest sales, KU reads have been low, usual ranking average in the 1,200,000 on the US zon store. Book sales might get a modest boost because the sequel is about to come live. It is a finalist in the 2023 Indie Ink Awards in two categories and will participate in the 2024 BBNYA competition. So, there might be a few additional sales. The market of the book is sort of niche and lacks romance. Reviews have been somewhat mixed with a current 3.2 average on goodreads.
The blight prompted Talgel’s lips to twitch for a brief instant. “That was low, Hamara. My dealings with the clan leader are my concern only. And yes, your personal life is my problem because I have seen your future, and Jamad does not appear in it.”
“Huh?” A stutter escaped the enraged woman’s lips when she heard that. She didn’t like Talgel, but her predictions were a legend within the city. Nobody knew when or who would become invited to her tent to learn their future. Everyone knew Talgel’s predictions never failed. When Hamara heard Talgel encouraging her to leave Jamad, it felt both baffling and insulting. Yet, it incited her curiosity more than everything else. “Are you saying Jamad is about to die?”
Talgel smirked as she thought about it. “I studied your future, and Jamad does not appear in it. I am uncertain what becomes of him. If you could at least listen to what I have to say and keep an open mind, your future will be filled with satisfaction and happiness you are not attaining for as long as you live here.”
Increasingly intrigued, Hamara relaxed her shoulders. She felt disgusted regarding the concept of abandoning her husband. Another side of her conceded Talgel had the answers she was desperately waiting for. “You have my attention. Even though I disagree with your ridiculous suggestion, I cannot deny I feel pleased I will be told my fortune ahead of time.”
