If you wish to know the answer to these questions I encourage you to read on into the depths of this book, where you will not only find yourself learning in great detail about puppy training, but also techniques and methods for positively controlling the behavior of the new member of your household.
Learning how to train your puppy or a fully grown dog is essential if your are going to enjoy each others company in the short, medium and long term years. This could range from anything like potty or crate training right through to fetching a ball or newspaper.
Imagine having a new puppy, who very quickly understands how relieving themselves indoors is not a good thing. This will help you and your new addition bond. It is also very emotionally healthy for a new puppy to immediately have solid boundaries and guidelines.

To begin, first clip a light line to the collar of your dog, and let your dog drag this around for a while. When your dog gets used to the line (does not seem curious or bothered by it), pick up its end and hold it as you follow your dog around your yard.
After some time, walk in the other direction as you encourage your dog to follow you. When your dog starts coming towards you, excitedly say “yes”, give a treat, and praise.
After some time, pair the behavior with the word “come”. Every time your dog positively responds, offer a reward and praise. To make the lesson fun for your puppy, make the command a game your puppy wants to play.
When you say the word “come” and your dog does not respond to it, do not keep repeating it since the command should be a single word. Instead of saying the command repeatedly, go to your dog and take him/her to where you want him/her to be. Do not call your dog for discipline because your dog will associate the command with negative consequences.
The Stay Command
This command is difficult to master for most dogs mainly because dogs are energetic. The goal of this command is to teach your dog to remain somewhere unless or until you command otherwise.
