What happens to people when they die? Where did we come from? Why are we here? Where do we go from here? This report gives brief answers to these questions.
This is a brief summary of how Mormons view what happens to people after they die and that there is more than one place a person can go to besides Hell. This report briefly explains what is needed to get into each of the three degrees of glory. For a more detailed explanation of what is in this report talk to an active member of the church.
This report is based on an assignment that I did for a religious study class at the University of South Florida, Tampa Campus. The instructor was Dr. James Strange
This book has been translated into Spanish, but the sales for both versions have been inconsistant. I don't have any actual numbers yet.
Introduction
In this paper I will attempt to explain, briefly, the teachings of Joseph Smith, Jr. concerning death, resurrection, and the afterlife. In order to stay within the intende4 length of the paper, I will deal primarily with the Book of Mormon (B of M). Where the B of M does not clearly cover a subject, I will refer to the other works generally attributed to Joseph Smith, Jr. or reputable commentaries thereon.
Before I begin explaining the doctrines, I will briefly describe each of the works generally attributed to Joseph Smith Jr. and there reported respective origins. First is the Book of Mormon (B of M). The title page, which Joseph Smith, Jr. translated from the plates themselves, best describes what it is.
