The scene starts with three Greek Wealthy women, planning to loan money to Caesar. Later; CLEOPATRA and CAESAR are aboard the Royal ship, waiting for the ship to be loaded. They are about to set sail for a two month trip up the Nile river to cataracts and back. As they wait for the ship to set sail, Cleopatra asks Caesar about his conquests in Gaul and England. As he replies, he recalls what he thought of the Gauls and the English and how is men reacted when reaching the shores of the English coast.. He sees Cleopatra as Queen and an opportunity to expand his plans to take over the Roman Empire and also Egypt via Cleopatra. Cleopatra in turn tells Caesar why she fled Egypt and how she raised an army of Arabs to take back the throne from the brother

From darkness, Africa came into the light, and as the new day's orb shone on the African continent, Egypt's Alexandria City awoke to the heat and smells of a new days' life. The dawn's early gray light, reflects off the calm Nile waters and as the sun peaks over the horizon, casting gray then pink light upon the Pyramids. Slowly life comes back to a new day. Small frogs croaked from the muddy reeds, alligators peek out from the Nile River and blink in the new sunlight. The ancient city of Alexandria, now 300 years old, greet fishermen coming back for breakfast with their morning catch.
Near the Alexandrian Palace, servants scurried here and there, collecting and packing silver plates, gold, glass cups along with jugs of beer, cheese and wine. Fragrances of morimga oil, nard oil lemon-grass, frankincense, myrrh, marjoram, henna hair dye from Cyprus, rose from containers to be placed in Cleopatra's bedroom on her ship, along with mirrors of Egyptian glass, combs of sandalwood, jewelry of string of pearls and matching earrings and dresses for Cleopatra to choose each day of the two month trip. All carefully packed into containers and carried outside. Baskets of barley, honey in blue glass jars, dried beef, perch fish, dried mutton, vegetables of onions, beans, turnips, lettuce and more, all for the oarsmen, the servants and the guests.
The Grand, Royal Barge was tied up at the Royal Docks and in the process of being loaded by hundreds of half-naked, sweating, women, who skillfully carry boxes on their heads and onto the barge, carefully placed below in the bedrooms, kitchen and bathing pool, on the lower deck.
