Sample text:

Captain James Hawkes stood on dry land for the first time in many months after a long voyage around Europe. He inhaled the air. ‘Whitby at its best,’ he mumbled under his breath. He threw his heavy sea bag over his shoulder. Still swaying a little from the sensation of being on high seas for so long, his eyes darted urgently between folk as they went about their business. He searched eagerly for Victoria. Why was she not there to meet him? He checked his watch. He had written to her to say he was on his way, giving her his expected arrival date and time. Perhaps she had not received his letter; it was the only explanation he could think of.
