The Earthly Genealogy of Jesus Christ

Taken from Saint Matthew Chapter One- 1-17.

Now this is the earthly ancestry of Jesus Christ.

The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

Abraham had Isaac, and Isaac had Jacob; and Jacob had Judah and his brothers;

And Judah had Phares and Zara by Thamar; and Phares had Esrom; and Esrom had  Aram;

And Aram had Aminadab; and Aminadab had Naasson; and Naasson had Salmon;

And Salmon had Booz by Rachab; and Booz had Obed by Ruth; and Obed had Jesse;

And Jesse had David, the king of Israel; and David, the king, had Solomon by Bathsheba, who had been the wife of Uriah;

And Solomon had Roboam; and Roboam had Abia; and Abia had Asa;

And Asa had Josaphat; and Josaphat had Joram; and Joram had Ozias;

And Ozias had Joatham; and Joatham had Achaz; and Achaz had Ezekias;

And Ezekias had Manasses; and Manasses had Amon; and Amon had Josias;

And Josias had Jechonias and his brothers, about that time they were taken away into Babylon:

And after they were taken into Babylon, Jechonias had Salathiel; and Salathiel had Zorobabel;

And Zorobabel had Abiud; and Abiud had Eliakim; and Eliakim had Azor;

And Azor had Sadoc; and Sadoc had Achim; and Achim had Eliud;

And Eliud had Eleazar; and Eleazar had Matthan; and Matthan had Jacob;

And Jacob had Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

Therefore, the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David to the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon to Jesus Christ are fourteen generations.
