Whichever situation triggers anxiety, when you are anxious, you are likely to see the manifestation of your anxiety through different physical and emotional symptoms such as heart palpitations, inability to concentrate, muscle tension, sweating, numbness, dry mouth, nausea, tummy jitters, trembling and hyperventilation.

How long or short the anxiety lasts depends on its source. The more the anxiety lasts, the more symptoms you experience. If you are reacting to a single one-off event -like the shot your doctor is on the brink of giving you-after the event, your anxiety levels fall and the accompanying symptoms will fade away. If your anxiety is triggered by the issues you have with your mother in-law, you’ll likely feel anxious a while before and after you see her.
