What more could happen after the death and resurrection of your mother? What could Heaven and Hell toss at Pink to top that? Well, to start with, she gets a new hellish babysitter, who is seriously hot. And although everybody likes him, he only has eyes for her. When she learns what the price was for the ‘miracle’ of saving her mother, she realises that she must be careful, as Hell doesn’t lose gracefully.
One of her friends wants to find the perfect man, the other one gets into a relationship she refuses to talk about, there’s a demon who doesn’t know when to give up and an angel who seems to have his own agenda. What on Earth, Hell or Heaven is going on?
Genre: YOUNG ADULT FICTION / Paranormal, Occult & SupernaturalThis series has proved quite popular, both in English and in Spanish (it was an Amazon bestseller in Spain a while back), and the fact that the first novel in the series is permafree always brings in a steady stream of sales of the other books. Most readers who read the first novel buy the other two. The series was published a few years back, but the new audio versions and the promotion keeps it updated, and the wonderful cover always brings interest to it.
Things had changed for me beyond all recognition in only a few months. It wasn’t even Christmas yet and it was impossible to believe the sheer amount of things that had happened. To any outsider looking at my life, nothing much seemed to have changed. I was still Pink, a good but not very popular student, with a small circle of friends (dears Lorna and Sylvia), and nothing extraordinary about me. I might have become slightly more interesting thanks to G’s appearance and his “connection” with me. G was rather weird, but he was still the new guy, and being the only one he had shown any interest in gave me some kudos. My best male friend Seth, one of the coolest guys in school, had definitely become more attentive toward me since G had appeared. But G had gone from being a dark and mysterious new guy at school to becoming the pain of my life. An angel, a demon, my friend, my enemy, a helper, a liar… I had no idea who or what he was. And after my bad experiences, I did not believe a word that came out of his mouth. So now it seemed that I might (or might not, depending on which version I chose to believe) hold the power to destroy Satan himself and bring to an end the struggle between good and evil. Or my death could result in the end of the Universe. Yes, a standard year in any girl’s life.
The worst thing was that I didn’t have anybody to discuss all of my doubts and issues with. It was quite clear from my previous attempts that talking to my friends wasn’t an option. G had already erased my friends’ memories before, and now there was far more at stake than “just” knowing that he was an angel (or rather, a demon).
