Sample text:

Robert looked mildly sheepish as he helped Clara from the car and into the station. Trudy instructed the porters regarding the trunks. “I told her what was happening after Helen made her announcement. She promised she’d give me a talking down as soon as everything was over. I let her know where to meet us and she’s going to have Clifton and Nora join her. We’ll see them in a day or two.”

The train was ready and waiting and there were just too many questions still running through her mind for Clara to settle on one. She pushed them all aside. They would keep. She had a lifetime ahead of her in which to ask them all. Robert handed her into the train car behind Trudy, guiding them to their seats. She kept her gaze on him as they settled in and the town began to slip away from them. She hadn’t paid attention to where they were headed. Leaning in for another, deeper kiss, Clara let everything slip away.

All that mattered was that Robert was with her, beside her, and that he always would be.
