One of the biggest problems we face in dealing with low self-confidence or self-worth is the false assumption that we are alone. No one understands us. No one cares. As you can see, however, that is simply not true. The bible tells us that God is with us always. And the Bible does not lie.

I can do all things through him who strengthens me. ~Philippians 4:13
There are four key words in this verse. They are: ‘all things’ and ‘through him’.
We can be confident in who we are because we know there is nothing we cannot do...when we do it through him.
To do things ‘through him’ means we live obediently according to his commands and expectations. It means we pray for direction in knowing and doing his will for our lives.
When we live this way we experience God’s blessings and are able to see ourselves in a positive light. We feel emboldened to be ourselves because we know being ourselves is all we need to be.
Prayer
Father in heaven, I thank you for your presence in my life—for your active presence. Thank you for being strong when I am weak. Thank you for being confident in my abilities when I am not.
I ask that you keep my mind focused on these truths so that your encouragement drowns out the voices of those who tell me I cannot do something you want me to do. I also ask that you give me a desire to do what I feel called to do.
In the name of Jesus I pray, amen.
