In all these years Celis has covered almost every major sports event like the Olympics, World Cups, World Series, Copa America, Super bowls, College Bowls, etc. In addition to all these sporting events, Celis worked as a news correspondent for special coverage of the September 11 terrorist attacks in New York City.
Throughout his career; Celis has received numerous awards and honors recognizing him for his work. In 2003 he won an award for his excellence work in Television from the World Boxing Organization.
He has provided the play-by-play for countless sports such as soccer, basketball (men’s and women’s) baseball and football. And was the host in Germany for Contacto Deportivo during the 2006 World Cup and South Africa 2010.
