My name is Flor Lizeth Zacarias Moreno, alias Losh. I was born in Aguascalientes, México, and I'm a lover of languages. I am an English and Italian teacher currently working at the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes. I also work for the CIDE (Centro de Investigación y Docencias Económicas) and the PRONI (Programa Nacional de Inglés, en México) attending mainly young learners from public elementary schools. I have eleven years of experience working with children and eight with adults, teaching both general English courses and academic subjects in the BA in ELT at the UAA. I graduated in 2009 from the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes obtaining the Bachelor’s degree in English Language Teaching. I also hold a MA in Education and Cognitive Processes, concluded in 2014.
Moreover, I have some certifications of English language and teaching such as the TKT by Cambridge university, C1 level in English (certified through different tests such as: TOEFL, Bullats and CENNI). In regards with Italian, I also have the C1 level from the CEFR, certified by the Università per Stranieri di Siena with the CILS exam.
Regarding translation, I did my social service at Radio UAA. My job was to translate the material of some of the radio programs they presented, they were usually related to blues and Jazz music. That was my first encountering with translation. I have done some other translation jobs for the Universidad Autonoma de Aguascalientes, one as a part of the translating committee for the curriculum of Civil Engineering (in English). I also participated in other projects for a teacher who was doing her thesis paper in interior design in Italy. These projects consisted on translating lectures given in the university of Naples in Italy with the collaboration of a colleague.
As a passion, I would like to go deeper in the field of translation, but especially in the literature field. I would like to help new writers make their job known in other countries, so that they break language boundaries. Literature should be available for everyone in a variety of languages. I would like to contribute with this purpose by doing what I love: reading and translating. I would rather translate from Italian and English to my mother tongue: Spanish.
