Soap has been around for an astonishingly longer period than anyone would think. The usage and the materials employed in the making soap have changed drastically compared to today's usage, materials, and processes. Still, all of those were essential in the final soap and soap-making processes we use today.

According to historians, soap making dates to as far back as 2800 BC. Back then, soap was only used for washing textile materials and in making skincare ointments and medicines. The two major materials used were usually gotten from home with little to no added costs to the family's expenses. They used ashes gotten from burning wood and the fats gotten off their animals during cooking. Both were boiled together until the desired result was gotten. It was a hectic and time-consuming process, but it was the only known way to make soaps at that time.
