“…All these who were chosen to be gatekeepers at the thresholds were 212 …appointed in their office of trust…” (1 Chronicles 9:17-22 NASB).

I am writing this book because of my mother and all her USHER comrades. She has been a gatekeeper or USHER since she was five years old. I won’t tell her age, because her grandson did that on Facebook recently and she was fussing about it. I will, however, say she’s been a USHER for well over a half century. LOL.
It is clear to me, as I look over my life with my mother; she was CHOSEN to be an USHER. From now on I will be using gatekeeper and usher interchangeably. “…These who were chosen to be gatekeepers …” (1 Chronicles 9:17-22 NASB).
She was CHOSEN by God. “…Having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his will...” (Ephesians 1:11).
God CLEARLY lets each of his children know the CHOOSING was his idea and not theirs. “…But you are a chosen people…” (1 Peter 2:9 NIV).
My mother wasn’t CHOSEN as an USHER because she was qualified, but God qualified her BECASE “HE” CHOSE her! God said about Israel, “For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself…” (Deuteronomy 7:6).
A calling to be a GATEKEEPER or USHER is based on God’s sovereign will. “…who worketh all things after the counsel of his will...” (Ephesians 1:11).
