Proverbs 3:5-6 says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not unto Your own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths."
Trusting in ourselves or people is never the solution in life. We must put our trust in God when we want to see positive results in our life.
2 Chronicles 32:7-8 says "Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him: With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah."
What does this mean? It means that the people trusted in God and He gave them the victory. And He confirmed the words of Hezekiah that said “do not be afraid for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him, With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the Lord our God to help us, and to fight our battles.”
So God sent His angel to answer Sennacherib king of Assyria who came to destroy Judea with all his soldiers which were the arm of flesh. He trusted in his army but they disappointed him because they couldn’t stand and fight an angel. Here is the story of exactly what happened.
2 Chronicles 32:1-23 says "After these things, and the establishment thereof, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, and entered into Judah, and encamped against the fenced cities, and thought to win them for himself. And when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib was come, and that he was purposed to fight against Jerusalem, He took counsel with his princes and his mighty men to stop the waters of the fountains which were without the city:
