Sometime after Tales of the Numinous and the formation of Heaven's Called, the supernatural forces have continued to do their works throughout the universe.
Their names are as follows: Creed, The Unholy Knight. Death Chaser, The Soul of Retribution. Travis Vail, The Spirit-Seeker. Gabriel Abraham The Devilhunter. The Man Called Fable. Cinderella, The Sly Detective, and Darkous of the Astrals.
Now, an even greater threat awakens due to the assistance of an old adversary to the Spirit-Seeker, which sets a silent course that could lead all of creation to an early end.
Genre: FICTION / Fantasy / Dark FantasyTravis Vail, the Spirit-Seeker cracked open the door to an abandoned home during a late evening. A quiet one. The home was far from the standard suburbs of a city or town. Vail entered the home, seeing nothing but damaged furniture and torn walls. The floors creaked with every footstep he took. He walked through the rooms, going down the hallway toward what appeared to be the office area.
“There it is.”
Vail entered the office and went straightforward to the portrait on the wall. The portrait was of a large field with two figures standing in the midst of follies. Vail pulled the portrait off the wall, finding a safe. Vail used his wits to find the code, unlocking the safe. Once he opened it, he saw the safe was empty.
“The hell?”
Vail searched through the office, not finding what he was truly searching for. He sighed.
“They’re gone.” Vail uttered to himself. “The books are gone.”
Vail exited the home, while on the phone speaking with Dr. Galen Donovan concerning the books. Donovan told Vail the books should’ve been in the house for centuries after being left there by a powerful psychic. Vail suggested the books might’ve been taken and sold. However, Donovan had an alternative.
“Have you felt the strangeness in the air recently?”
“I have?” Vail replied. “You believe the books are responsible?”
“If they are, it would only imply they were stolen and are being used by some powerful forces.”
“You think Balthazar may have them?”
“Not likely. To use the books properly, it would take more than one man to get them operating. It would need a team of many.”
“I’ll pay Abraham a visit. See what he knows. He has some of the books in his center.”
