Translation background:

I was born and raised in Mexico by a Mexican father and a U.S. mother to whom I always speak in English. I went to a bilingual high school where half of the courses where thought in English and half in Spanish. After that I studied physics and philosophy at Willamette University, a small liberal arts college in Oregon, USA. When I graduated I worked for a year at a call center as a bilingual customer service representative. Then I decided to return to Mexico to get an MBA in one of the most prestigious business schools of Mexico, which is the ITAM. After graduating I participated in translation projects for different people: one was for a marketing company, another for my uncle who is a lawyer and another for a construction company. Then I found a stable job at the Instituto de Investigaciones Eléctricas, where I mostly did research from technical papers in English and Spanish to make summaries of the business environment in my own words in Spanish. More recently I’ve been working as a freelancer in traduguide.com, translatorsdirecotry.com, translatorsbase.com, proz.com and translatorscafe.com. Through these means I have participated in many translation projects generally clasifiable as follows (from the most numerous to the least): news articles,  certificates, contracts, engineering, marketing, health,  medicine, diplomas, literature, translations from French, translations from Portuguese and translations from Italian.
