Autobiography
Jay Hotrum is an American writer born in Ontario, Canada, and has lived in the United States for most of his life. Raised and educated in California, he earned his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California, Riverside and graduated with a perfect 4.0 GPA. He is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society, the nation’s most prestigious award for graduate students. While focusing his University Honor’s thesis in the field of Political Psychology, his Capstone project at UCR was titled Drug Abuse and Politics: What Happens When Rational Actors Become Addicted to Mind Altering Drugs? For this and other scholastic achievements, he was also accepted to a number of additional honor societies including Tau Sigma, Gamma beta Phi, Phi Thetta Kappa, UCR University Honor’s, and The Society for Collegiate Leadership and Achievement.
With his interests including all fields of drug addiction and treatment, Mr. Hotrum remains focused on alternative methods for treating drug addicts and is also the founding member of the 501(c)3 nonprofit Global Addiction Solutions, Inc. which serves as an organization intent on supplying drug treatment programs, in the form of literature, to anybody who needs it, free of charge, anywhere in the world.
Jay has a wide variety of alternative interests as well. As a vocalist, he has written and recorded music in several different bands over the years, also working as a solo artist, and he has also ventured into stand-up comedy, appearing at the number-one rated club in the United States, the Laugh Factory in Hollywood, California. Jay is currently working on his follow-up to Quit Meth Now! with a book titled How to Kick Your Opioid Addiction; A Self-help Guide for Kicking Your Addiction to Pain Pills, Heroin, and Methadone. He looks forward to adding this book to his accomplishments, while also trying to find time for a significant and substantial personal life.
