I have just graduated as an English to Spanish translator from La Serena University. My goal in life is to become a literary translator. I have been an avid reader ever since I was a child and I have continued to be so up until now. I would love to partner with YA authors since it is the genre I have most read, however, I am capable of translating a broad variety of genres. I am very passionate about gender equality, LGBTQAI+ rights and human rights in general.
I was born in Denmark of Chilean parents and then we all moved to Chile, so I am very aware of the migrant experience. I pay special attention to cultural details since I know how important they can be to a literary text.

Author review: Isabella was a real joy to work with. She is a skilled translator- accurate and perceptive – able to reproduce nuances and find perfect parallels for idiomatic phrases. Most importantly, as a writer of fiction, I felt her translation retained my voice. Unlike many translators, she resisted the urge to ‘improve’ it. Whenever she wasn’t sure, she asked me and we decided together how a passage should be translated. This was an important book for me. My first novel, set in rural Spain – my home since 2001. Now I can share it with my friends and neighbours. I am so proud of this translation. I have learned so much from Isabella and hope she and I will work together on more translations.
