A young and beatiful Danish/Japanese female gymnast arrives in the new sportcollege of Haubjerg. She belongs to the absolute gymnastic elite of the world and is preparing for her final breakthrough by exercising the impossible jump: The Triple Salto.

Unwillingly she drives several of the town's men mad. This ends in disaster and Daniel Dreyer must take action.

Den 275 tons tunge Airbus A340 accelererede ud af den længste bane i Narita International Airport lidt øst for Tokyos centrum. De 300 passagerer pressedes tilbage i deres sæder, mens mange af dem uvilkårligt strammede deres greb om sædernes armlæn. Da SAS flight nummer SK984 brød gennem de lavthængende skyer, strålede middagssolen ind gennem de små vinduer og oplyste hele kabinen.

Det var ikke alle sæder i Business Class-sektionen, som var besat. Af de to sæder allerforrest i kabinen var det kun vinduespladsen, der var besat. Her sad en ganske ung kvinde alene og kiggede ned på det bølgende, hvide landskab, der udgjordes af det solbeskinnede skydække.

For en europæer så hun ganske asiatisk ud, men de fleste japanere ville tydeligt lægge mærke til hendes europæiske træk. Hendes navn røbede også hendes etnisk blandede afstamning. Sakura Toft. Hendes efternavn havde hun fået fra sin far – Victor Toft – mens hendes japanske mor Misaka stædigt havde holdt på, at hun skulle lyde det romantiske fornavn Sakura, som på japansk betyder kirsebærblomst.
