THE LORD’S PRAYER: 2021 is a book about a perspective of prayer through the lens of the Matthew 6:9-13 version of the Lord’s Prayer. Prayer is the way God’s people communicate with God, the Holy Spirit and therefore, is a very important part of the covenant relationship between soul and Spirit. However, making requests and supplications to God, the Holy Spirit, is a small PART of prayer, and is NOT to be perceived as being the MAIN part of prayer. God is NOT a GENIE in a bottle NOR is HE there to cater to his people’s every whim, desires, or wish. God, the Holy Spirit, therefore, is NOT controlled or manipulated by ANY KIND of prayer. Thus, he offered the Lord’s Prayer as an EXAMPLE.

“…This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one…” (Matthew 6:9-13 NIV).

When I pray I am communicating with God, the Holy Spirit. When I communicate with God, the Holy Spirit, I use my words to speak to him and he uses his WORDS to speak to me. Our WORDS express our hearts toward one another. Our WORDS help us to exchange information to one another. Our WORDS also help us express our thoughts, feelings, concerns, and ideals
