Genre: BUSINESS & ECONOMICS / Real Estate / GeneralI know.
You’re just itching to start producing viral videos in your quest to become an Internet sensation.
But before we begin your tour of world-video domination, we need to make sure you’ve got the tools you need for future success.
Some of these items you may already have. (Others you may not have even thought of.)
But trust me: skipping any of these will DRASTICALLY reduce the effectiveness of your videos. (And waste your time.)
So, here are the FOUR THINGS you gotta have before embarking on your video-marketing efforts:
Video Tool #1: Video Camera (or Smartphone) & Tripod
Before you head over to Best Buy and buy that $2000 camcorder you’ve had your eye on, just know you probably already have all the video-capturing power you need, in your pocket.
That’s because smartphones (and tablets) have gotten so good, and technologically advanced, one of the few areas of real innovation is with camera quality.
And this is great news for us as video marketing newbies.
Because now we can simply hit “record” on our iPhone or Android device and riff away, without having to worry about F-stops and white balance. (We can even upload the video straight from our phone. Something I’ll talk about in a later chapter.)
But, there are some key things to consider when creating video on a tablet or smartphone:
● Turn the phone on its side. Nothing screams amateur hour like a “vertically” shot smartphone video. Turn the camera on its side and enjoy the HD resolution at your disposal.
● Keep the light source behind the camera/phone. Smartphones are dumb when it comes knowing who the SUBJECT of an actual video is; this is why faces get “dark” or “washed out.”
