Backyard chickens can be a good source of fresh eggs, meat and fun. Just like any other animal, hens are nice pets to have around. They are low maintenance and offer us a wide range of benefits that other pets don’t. You won’t need to play with them, groom them, take them for walks and henceforth. Their constant supply of fresh eggs is a good thing for your family.
Urban chicken are increasingly becoming popular with home owners due to many of these benefits. In addition, they don’t need much space. A proper housing for them, known as a coop can be built easily from home or bought. A chicken coop will need to be strong and effective to ensure your hens are comfortable and healthy and also protect them from predators. It doesn’t need to be highly specialized, in fact most people prefer to have it built from home rather than buying. This enables you custom built it. We shall be looking at this and more on the chicken coop in a later chapter.
